Webster Szanyi LLP is pleased to announce that Ryan Smith has become a partner of the firm as of January 1, 2015. Mr. Smith concentrates his legal practice in the areas of education law and litigation. Since joining Webster Szanyi LLP, much of Mr. Smith’s litigation practice has involved defending municipalities and school districts. With respect to his education law practice, Mr. Smith has performed extensive research and analysis into a multitude of public school-related issues arising under New York State’s Education Law, the United States Constitution and pertinent federal and state laws applicable to school districts. Recently, Mr. Smith researched and analyzed the duties and obligations imposed on school districts under the McKinney Vento Homeless Assistance Act. Mr. Smith is a member of the Municipal & School Law Committee and the Continuing Legal Education Committee. Mr. Smith grew up in Western New York, is a cum laude graduate of Union College, and obtained his Juris Doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.
